Overground Railroad book by Candacy Taylor

"Overground Railroad" by Candacy Taylor.

From 1936-1966 the Green Book was published as a guide for Black motorists traveling in pre-Civil Rights era America. At the time many restaurants, hotels, gas stations, and other establishments would not serve Black guests, so the Green Book listed places where travelers could find these essentials.

"Overground Railroad" chronicles the history of the Green Book and how it has influenced travel for many Black Americans over the decades.
