Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Library Cards
How do I sign up for a library card?

All East Windsor residents (including Broad Brook residents) are eligible to get a library card–and it’s free! There is no minimum age to get a library card. Children under the age of 14 must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign up for a library card. We require proof of residency, so bring a driver’s license or a non-driver’s ID card with your current address, or your ID and a bill with your address as proof.

Acceptable forms of proof of address include a utility bill, bank statement, or vehicle registration. Leases are not an acceptable form of proof of residency.

There is a $2.00 replacement charge for lost cards.

Fines
Do you have fines?

Yes, we do have fines. Library cards will be blocked once fines reach a minimum of $25.00. Payments for overdue and replacement fines for items belonging to our library may be made at the circulation desk via cash or check. You can also log into your account using your library card number and PIN and pay fines online with a debit or credit card.

  • Books, puzzles, magazines, CD audiobooks, and VOX books: $0.25/day up to $5.00 each

  • DVDs/Blu-rays: $1.00/day up to $5.00 each

  • Museum passes & Tonies: $5.00/day up to $10.00 each

We periodically offer fine-free months forgiving overdue fines, so be sure to check out our website, Facebook, and Instagram for the latest updates! (Please note that this excludes replacement fines.)
